Where it began
Suppliers sent packing slips as PDFs to a shared mailbox. Every morning two office staff retyped them into the ERP, line by line. When it was busy that ran a day behind, and typing errors only surfaced at the stock count.
An earlier OCR solution failed on the variety: forty suppliers, forty layouts.

One supplier as the yardstick
We started with the supplier with the most packing slips and agreed up front when it would be good enough: 98% of the lines without errors.

The model reads the packing slip, checks article numbers against the ERP and passes doubtful cases to an employee instead of guessing.

Only when the first supplier ran stably did the others follow. Every new layout now takes an afternoon instead of a project.
What it delivered
